Provence Aquaculture is supplied with juveniles of superior quality, always from wild parents, from various French hatcheries. Deliveries are made in the spring and fall; juvenile quantities range from 150,000 [individual fish] for the sea bass and 70,000 for the sea bream. The juveniles are directly transported to the farm by a maritime shuttle, in containers filled with sea water.
The selection criteria for our juveniles are strict, and a verification process is systematically undertaken before each purchase. This procedure is conducted by an independent, third-party veterinary service (Veterinary Assistance Emergency Service- S.A.V.U.) which assures :
fish sanitation
physical features
homogeneity of the lot
A second inspection is performed when the juveniles are brought to the farm, so as to determine their general health once in their new environment. It is through these various procedures that the quality of our juveniles is absolutely guaranteed.
